Kmet, Cole - CHI
Credit Cole Kmet for defying the limitations of the Bears' low-octane passing attack. Over the last three seasons, Chicago has finished 25th, 32nd and 28th in passing yardage, but Kmet has finished with 612. 544 and 719 receiving yards in those three seasons. He had a career-high 73 catches last year and scored six touchdowns, finishing TE8 in PPR fantasy scoring. The Bears spent the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft on QB Caleb Williams, so the Chicago passing game should have some added juice in 2024. The problem is that the Bears now have a WR trio of D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, so Kmet faces stuff target competition that could cap his fantasy upside. Consider him a high-end to midrange TE2.

Hunter Henry inks three-year deal with Patriots TE Hunter Henry and the Patriots have agreed to a three-year deal.Fantasy ImpactHenry was set to enter free agency but will now remain with New England. The 29-year-old logged 419 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 42 receptions last season. With a possible upgrade in quarterback, Henry could return to a viable fantasy option in 2024.

Ricci was ruled out for the Panthers' Week 6 contest against the Dolphins after aggravating his shoulder injury during practice. The third-year tight end from Western Michigan has played mostly on special teams with the emergence of rookie Sam LaPorta. Ricci will now miss at least the next four games and will be eligible to return in Week 12 against the titans on Nov. 26.

The Chargers haven't released any official information regarding the severity of Everett's injury, so it's fair to assume the veteran should be healthy following the offseason. The 29-year-old wrapped up his seventh year in the NFL with solid figures given his role essentially as a safety blanket for Justin Herbert, as he never recorded more than 50 yards receiving in a single game despite seven contests with at least four receptions. Everett enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent that will likely draw some suitors given his constant reliability.

Mitchell, James - DET
Though he ranked third in snap share among Detroit tight ends in each of the final five games of the 2022 campaign, Mitchell still drew at least one target in all but one of those contests. All told, Mitchell turned in 11 receptions for 113 yards and one touchdown on 11 targets across his 14 appearances with the Lions in 2022. The 23-year-old is likely to remain in a depth role for Detroit heading into his second NFL season in 2023.

If he wasn't placed back on the 53-man roster Wednesday, he would have been forced back on injured reserve and missed the remainder of the season. However, the Indiana product has been logging full practices the last three weeks and should be good to go Sunday against the Eagles.

Rogers spent the entirety of what was to be his second NFL season on IR with the injury. According to Fortier, the Ohio product is about 80 percent recovered and doing linear running, with the next step being to make cuts and continue to get into football shape.

Long was already reportedly set for season-ending MCL surgery, so this news doesn't come as much of a surprise. The Boston College product's third NFL season will come to a close with just four games played and no catches or targets. He'll now focus on his recovery and returning healthy in 2024.

Hockenson, T.J. - MIN
Hockenson was specifically asked on the NFL Schedule Release '24 show whether he expects to be playing Week 5 versus the Jets in London. The standout tight end said of his recovery from a right ACL and MCL tear he's "kinda taking it day by day, week by week," and that "the progression has been incredible" even though a specific return timetable remains uncertain. Hockenson underwent surgery late January and doesn't seem likely to be ready for Week 1, but Week 5 could be within the realm of possibility. The Vikings have a Week 6 bye, however, so it's possible that a more realistic target for Hockenson's debut could be Week 7 and beyond.

Manhertz typically plays from one-third to one-half of Denver's offensive snaps, and those could be absorbed by Nate Adkins on Sunday.

He seemed like a candidate for a second-year breakout, but then the Raiders spent their first-round draft pick on mega-talented University of Georgia TE Brock Bowers, seemingly kneecapping Mayer's 2024 fantasy value. Mayer was wildly productive in college, with more than 800 receiving yards in his final two seasons at Notre Dame. Mayer averaged only 2.9 targets a game in 2023, and it's hard to imagine his weekly target counts significantly increasing when he has to share targets with Bowers and superstar WR Davante Adams.

With a declining snap share week over week, AO is on the fast track to the bottom of the depth chart as the team activated rookie Greg Dulcich to take his place. Still listed as DLF's TE21, it's going to take a minor miracle or injury above him for Okwuegbunam to reclaim his "active" status. He's borderline droppable in all but the deepest of dynasty leagues.
