TE Nagging Injuries/Suspensions

HIGBEE, TYLER - LAR

HIGBEE, TYLER

Knee - ACL + MCL - Questionable

Tyler Higbee (knee) timeline remains unclearRams GM Les Snead said Tyler Higbee has had surgery to repair his torn ACL, but his timeline to return is "still unclear."Fantasy ImpactHigbee tore his ACL and MCL in the Rams Wild Card loss against the Lions. His injury status will be worth monitoring throughout the rest of the offseason.

Dwelley, Ross - ATL

Dwelley, Ross

Ankle - IR

Ross Dwelley signs with FalconsThe Atlanta Falcons signed TE Ross Dwelley.Fantasy ImpactDwelley started 17 games during his six seasons in San Francisco. He'll add depth to the tight end room for the Falcons.

Kmet, Cole - CHI

Kmet, Cole

Forearm - Questionable

Credit Cole Kmet for defying the limitations of the Bears' low-octane passing attack. Over the last three seasons, Chicago has finished 25th, 32nd and 28th in passing yardage, but Kmet has finished with 612. 544 and 719 receiving yards in those three seasons. He had a career-high 73 catches last year and scored six touchdowns, finishing TE8 in PPR fantasy scoring. The Bears spent the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft on QB Caleb Williams, so the Chicago passing game should have some added juice in 2024. The problem is that the Bears now have a WR trio of D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, so Kmet faces stuff target competition that could cap his fantasy upside. Consider him a high-end to midrange TE2.

Henry, Hunter - NE

Henry, Hunter

Knee - IR

Hunter Henry inks three-year deal with Patriots TE Hunter Henry and the Patriots have agreed to a three-year deal.Fantasy ImpactHenry was set to enter free agency but will now remain with New England. The 29-year-old logged 419 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 42 receptions last season. With a possible upgrade in quarterback, Henry could return to a viable fantasy option in 2024.

Ricci, Giovanni - CLE

Ricci, Giovanni

Shoulder - Questionable

Ricci was ruled out for the Panthers' Week 6 contest against the Dolphins after aggravating his shoulder injury during practice. The third-year tight end from Western Michigan has played mostly on special teams with the emergence of rookie Sam LaPorta. Ricci will now miss at least the next four games and will be eligible to return in Week 12 against the titans on Nov. 26.

Fortson Jr., Jody - MIA

Fortson Jr., Jody

Shoulder - IR

Wright, Brock - DET

Wright, Brock

Forearm - Questionable

Brock Wright: Lions match 49ers’ RFA offerThe Lions have matched the 49ers’ three-year, $12M offer to RFA Brock Wright.Fantasy ImpactWright will return to the Lions after the team chose to match the 49ers offer. The 25-year-old will likely continue to serve as the backup to Sam LaPorta.

UZOMAH, C.J. - PHI

UZOMAH, C.J.

Knee - MCL - IR

Uzomah's move to IR comes after he sustained a sprained MCL of his right knee in the Jets' Week 13 loss to the Falcons. Given that he will have to spend a minimum of four games on IR, Uzomah won't be eligible to take the field until Week 18 against the Patriots, though the Jets could opt to shut him down for the season if the team is eliminated from playoff contention. The Jets activated tight end Kenny Yeboah (hamstring) from IR in a corresponding transaction.

Ruckert, Jeremy - NYJ

Ruckert, Jeremy

Concussion - IR

Jeremy Ruckert catches three passes SundayJeremy Ruckert caught all three of his targets for 37 yards during the Jets' 30-6 win over the Texans in Week 14.Fantasy ImpactRuckert operated as the No. 2 tight end behind Tyler Conklin but still carved out a solid role. With that said, given his secondary role on the depth chart, he's off the fantasy radar.

Quitoriano, Teagan - HOU

Quitoriano, Teagan

Groin - Questionable

Teagan Quitoriano logs one reception in Week 1 lossTexans TE Teagan Quitoriano caught his lone target for 11 yards in a loss to Baltimore Sunday.Fantasy ImpactQuitoriano made the most of his lone target, but remains behind veteran Dalton Schultz in the pecking order in the Texans’ offense. Fantasy managers can leave Quitoriano off their radar for now.

Woods, Jelani - IND

Woods, Jelani

Hamstring - Questionable

Jelani Woods (hamstring) at OTAs WednesdayJelani Woods was at Colts practice on Wednesday.Fantasy ImpactWoods missed all of last season due to hamstring injuries. He caught a pass from Anthony Richardson at practice on Wednesday. Woods could be a tight end to keep an eye on late in fantasy drafts with a productive camp.

Ogletree, Drew - IND

Ogletree, Drew

Personal - Suspended

Ogletree's placement on the list comes after he was arrested Friday. While the tight end is on the list, he is not permitted to practice or attend games.

Dulcich, Greg - DEN

Dulcich, Greg

Foot - Questionable

Greg Dulcich (hamstring) ruled out for Week 16Greg Dulcich has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Patriots.Fantasy ImpactDulcich will remain sidelined. Adam Trautman should continue to see more snaps at tight end for Denver, though he isn't fantasy relevant.

Everett, Gerald - CHI

Everett, Gerald

Knee - Questionable

The Chargers haven't released any official information regarding the severity of Everett's injury, so it's fair to assume the veteran should be healthy following the offseason. The 29-year-old wrapped up his seventh year in the NFL with solid figures given his role essentially as a safety blanket for Justin Herbert, as he never recorded more than 50 yards receiving in a single game despite seven contests with at least four receptions. Everett enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent that will likely draw some suitors given his constant reliability.

Mitchell, James - DET

Mitchell, James

Hand - Questionable

Though he ranked third in snap share among Detroit tight ends in each of the final five games of the 2022 campaign, Mitchell still drew at least one target in all but one of those contests. All told, Mitchell turned in 11 receptions for 113 yards and one touchdown on 11 targets across his 14 appearances with the Lions in 2022. The 23-year-old is likely to remain in a depth role for Detroit heading into his second NFL season in 2023.

Fant, Noah - SEA

Fant, Noah

Hand - Questionable

Noah Fant re-signs with the SeahawksThe Seahawks have re-signed Noah Fant to a two-year deal worth $21 million.Fantasy ImpactFant was part of the trade package that sent Russell Wilson to Seattle from the Broncos. He had a limited role last season sharing snaps with Will Dissly and Colby Parkinson. With those two leaving in free agency, Fant should be on the field a lot more and could be an intriguing tight end to target in the double-digit rounds of fantasy drafts.

Hendershot, Peyton - DAL

Hendershot, Peyton

Ankle - Questionable

Hendershot was designated to return from IR on Nov. 15, so his 21-day window to practice with the team was up. If he wasn't placed back on the 53-man roster Wednesday, he would have been forced back on injured reserve and missed the remainder of the season. However, the Indiana product has been logging full practices the last three weeks and should be good to go Sunday against the Eagles.

Rogers, Armani - WAS

Rogers, Armani

Achilles - IR

Rogers spent the entirety of what was to be his second NFL season on IR with the injury. According to Fortier, the Ohio product is about 80 percent recovered and doing linear running, with the next step being to make cuts and continue to get into football shape.

Long, Hunter - LAR

Long, Hunter

Knee - MCL - IR

Long was already reportedly set for season-ending MCL surgery, so this news doesn't come as much of a surprise. The Boston College product's third NFL season will come to a close with just four games played and no catches or targets. He'll now focus on his recovery and returning healthy in 2024.

Hockenson, T.J. - MIN

Hockenson, T.J.

Knee - ACL + MCL - IR

Hockenson was specifically asked on the NFL Schedule Release '24 show whether he expects to be playing Week 5 versus the Jets in London. The standout tight end said of his recovery from a right ACL and MCL tear he's "kinda taking it day by day, week by week," and that "the progression has been incredible" even though a specific return timetable remains uncertain. Hockenson underwent surgery late January and doesn't seem likely to be ready for Week 1, but Week 5 could be within the realm of possibility. The Vikings have a Week 6 bye, however, so it's possible that a more realistic target for Hockenson's debut could be Week 7 and beyond.

Davidson, Zach - BUF

Davidson, Zach

Undisclosed - Questionable

Mallory, Will - IND

Mallory, Will

Hamstring - Questionable

MANHERTZ, CHRIS - NYG

MANHERTZ, CHRIS

Illness - Questionable

An illness has prevented Manhertz from participating in any capacity during Week 18 prep, and he's consequently been deemed unavailable for Denver's season finale. The tight end thus will finish the season with two catches (on four targets) for 16 yards over 16 games. Manhertz typically plays from one-third to one-half of Denver's offensive snaps, and those could be absorbed by Nate Adkins on Sunday.

HURST, HAYDEN - LAC

HURST, HAYDEN

Concussion - Questionable

Hayden Hurst visiting Chargers with intent to signVeteran TE Hayden Hurst, who spent last season with the Carolina Panthers, is visiting with the Los Angeles Chargers and intends to sign.Fantasy ImpactJim Harbaugh is already making his presence felt in L.A., bringing in a pair of tight ends and pairing Hurst with TE Will Dissly. With Gerald Everett in Chicago, Hurst will compete with TE Donald Parham Jr. and Dissly for targets, with Hurst having the most proven production (571-yard season in 2020).

Whyle, Josh - TEN

Whyle, Josh

Knee - IR

Josh Whyle hauls in two receptions in Week 10 lossJosh Whyle caught 2-of-5 targets for 16 yards in the Titans’ 20-6 loss to Tampa Bay.Fantasy ImpactWhyle has appeared in just five games this season, logging 60 yards and one touchdown on six receptions. The 24-year-old can remain on your league’s waiver wire for now.

Mayer, Michael - LV

Mayer, Michael

Toe - IR

Michael Mayer had a somewhat disappointing rookie season for the Raiders, with 27 catches for 304 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games. He seemed like a candidate for a second-year breakout, but then the Raiders spent their first-round draft pick on mega-talented University of Georgia TE Brock Bowers, seemingly kneecapping Mayer's 2024 fantasy value. Mayer was wildly productive in college, with more than 800 receiving yards in his final two seasons at Notre Dame. Mayer averaged only 2.9 targets a game in 2023, and it's hard to imagine his weekly target counts significantly increasing when he has to share targets with Bowers and superstar WR Davante Adams.

Adkins, Nate - DEN

Adkins, Nate

Hamstring - Questionable

Okwuegbunam Jr., Albert - PHI

Okwuegbunam Jr., Albert

Hamstring - IR

It's confirmation of what the tea leaves had been telling us as the 2022 season has progressed. With a declining snap share week over week, AO is on the fast track to the bottom of the depth chart as the team activated rookie Greg Dulcich to take his place. Still listed as DLF's TE21, it's going to take a minor miracle or injury above him for Okwuegbunam to reclaim his "active" status. He's borderline droppable in all but the deepest of dynasty leagues.

PRUITT, MYCOLE - PIT

PRUITT, MYCOLE

Knee - Questionable

The Falcons' No. 3 tight end hauled in his lone target for a 17-yard gain prior to leaving with the injury. If Pruitt is done for the day, the Falcons would be left with Tucker Fisk and John FitzPatrick as depth options behind Kyle Pitts and Jonnu Smith.

McKeon, Sean - DET

McKeon, Sean

Ankle - Questionable

Sean McKeon signed to Cowboys' active rosterTE Sean McKeon is signing with the Dallas Cowboys active roster from their practice squad.Fantasy ImpactWith TE Peyton Hendershot going on injured reserve, the Cowboys will replace the TE3 role with Sean McKeon. McKeon played in Weeks 4 and 5, two weeks in which Hendershot was a scratch, playing 24 total snaps. He doesn't serve much as a pass catcher (six catches in four seasons), but he serves as a blocker and a depth TE behind TEs Jake Ferguson and Luke Schoonmaker.

Cager, Lawrence - NYG

Cager, Lawrence

Groin - IR

Since drawing a pair of targets in the Giants' blowout loss to the Cowboys in Week 10, Cager hasn't earned a look in the passing game in any of New York's ensuing three games. Cager should remain active on game days so long as Darren Waller (hamstring) remains on injured reserve, but look for fill-in starter Daniel Bellinger to continue to dominate the snaps at tight end.

Fotheringham, Cole - LV

Fotheringham, Cole

Hamstring - Questionable

Zylstra, Shane - DET

Zylstra, Shane

Knee - Questionable

Swaim, Geoff - TBD

Swaim, Geoff

Calf - Questionable

Geoff Swaim placed on IR Wednesday The Cardinals placed TE Geoff Swaim on injured reserve with a calf injury. Fantasy ImpactSwaim suffered the calf injury on Sunday in the loss to the 49ers. The 30-year-old will close out the 2023 season with 94 receiving yards on 10 receptions.

Everett, Gerald - TBD

Everett, Gerald

Knee - Questionable

Gerald Everett agrees to terms with BearsThe Chicago Bears and veteran TE Gerald Everett have agreed to terms on a new deal, a two-year, $12 million contract worth up to $14 million with $6.1 million guaranteed.Fantasy ImpactEverett, who will be over 30 at the start of next season, is signing with Chicago where he will join TE Cole Kmet at the position for what will likely be a new QB in 2024. The Bears will be Everett's fourth team in his career (Rams, Seahawks, Chargers). With LAC, he had a 17-game pace of 60 catches for 530 yards and four scores over a pair of seasons.

Horsted, Jesper - TBD

Horsted, Jesper

Hamstring - IR

Jesper Horstead inactive for Thursday Night FootballThe Las Vegas Raiders have listed TE Jesper Horstead as inactive for Thursday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams.Fantasy ImpactHorstead will be inactive for the Raiders for the second week in a row, setting the way for TEs Foster Moreau and Jacob Hollister to lead the team. The Raiders are also making CB Rock Ya-Sin, LB Jayon Brown, C Hroniss Grasu, DE Tashawn Bower and DT Andrew Billings inactive.

Franks, Feleipe - TBD

Franks, Feleipe

Undisclosed - Questionable

Feleipe Franks waived by FalconsThe Atlanta Falcons have waived Feleipe Franks. Fantasy ImpactFranks was a quarterback in college, but transitioned to tight end last offseason. He will look to land with a new team during training camp.
