Allen, Josh

Allen completed 18 of 23 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns while rushing nine times for 39 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 34-28 win over the Cardinals. He also lost a fumble. After losing a fumble on Buffalo's first drive, Allen had a would-be four-yard rushing touchdown erased by an offensive facemask penalty in the second quarter but scored one that counted from seven yards out in the final minute of the first half. He then threw 11-yard touchdown passes to Mack Hollins and Khalil Shakir in the third quarter to give the Bills their first lead of the season before extending the advantage with a six-yard rushing score in the fourth. Allen had his left hand/wrist looked at in the fourth quarter, per Ryan O'Halloran of The Buffalo News, but he stayed in the game and looked no worse for wear. One day after the daughter of the Bills team owners, Jessica Pegula, lost in the U.S. Open final, Allen gave the family something to celebrate, leading the Bills to a 1-0 record heading into Thursday's game in Miami.

Mayfield, Baker

Mayfield completed 24 of 30 pass attempts for 289 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 21 yards on three attempts in Sunday's 37-20 win over the Commanders. Mayfield was nearly flawless in the Buccaneers 2024 home opener, missing just six pass attempts and committing no turnovers in a comfortable win. The 2018 first-overall pick looked the part in his second season starting for Tampa Bay, feeding top wideouts Mike Evans (5/61/2) and Chris Godwin (8/83/1) the football early and often. Mayfield looks like a great value pick after being drafted in the mid to late rounds in fantasy drafts. Now we will witness how this offense performs on the road against a tough Detroit defense next Sunday.

Murray, Kyler

Murray completed 21 of 31 passes for 162 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 34-28 loss to the Bills. He also rushed five times for 57 yards and lost a fumble. Murray capped the opening drive with a five-yard touchdown pass to Michael Wilson and helped the Cardinals race out to a 17-3 lead, but Buffalo responded with 21 unanswered points, aided by a Murray fumble. Arizona's dual-threat quarterback then responded with a 29-yard run to set up a field goal on the next drive, but Murray and the Cardinals came up short on their last drive, turning the ball over on downs at Buffalo's 29-yard line in the final minute. Rookie fourth overall pick Marvin Harrison had just four yards in his NFL debut, so Murray will look to get the talented wide receiver more involved in Week 2 against the Rams.

Murray completed 17 of 21 pass attempts for 266 yards and three touchdowns while adding 59 rushing yards on five attempts in Sunday's 41-10 blowout win over the Rams. Murray tore apart the Rams' secondary in Sunday's lopsided victory, missing just four pass attempts and committing no turnovers. The 2019 first-overall pick has battled injuries over the past two seasons, but he is now playing with the confidence we saw from the star QB prior to breaking down physically. Murray is shaping up to be a great bounce-back candidate in 2024 with four touchdowns and a 73 percent completion rate through two games. A true barometer awaits for the 26-year-old in Week 3 when the Cardinals host a stingy Lions defense at State Farm Stadium on Sunday.

Daniels, Jayden

Daniels completed 17 of 24 passes for 184 yards while rushing 16 times for 88 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Buccaneers. Daniels scored one-yard rushing touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters, in addition to coming just 12 yards shy of ending Washington's 22-game drought without a 100-yard rusher. The rookie second overall pick was ineffective as a passer, though, with most of his production coming after the game was well out of reach. He also put the ball on the ground three times, but all three fumbles were recovered by the Commanders. Daniels has a nice opportunity to take a step forward throwing the ball in Week 2, when he makes his home debut against a Giants team that's coming off a 28-6 loss to the Vikings.

Jackson, Lamar

Jackson completed 26 of 41 passes for 273 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions and rushed 16 times for 122 yards in the Ravens' 27-20 loss to the Chiefs on Thursday. He also lost a fumble. Jackson's final numbers were certainly stellar from a fantasy perspective, but his passing wasn't as efficient as his final line implies, and he also couldn't convert on two final opportunities to tie the game. Jackson did demonstrate excellent chemistry with Isaiah Likely, who easily one-upped fellow tight end Mark Andrews by hauling in nine of Jackson's passes for 111 yards and the quarterback's one touchdown. However, Jackson frequently found himself pulling the ball down and running on his way to his best rushing yardage total since Week 18 of the 2020 season. He also threw well behind a wide open Zay Flowers in the end zone on the second-to-last play and then launched his final pass about an inch too far for Likely, who just missed bringing it down inbounds. Following another disappointing loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, Jackson will look to atone with a more balanced effort in a Week 2 home battle versus the Raiders on Sept. 15.

Richardson, Anthony

Richardson completed nine of 19 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Texans. He added 56 rushing yards and a TD on six carries. Seeing his first game action since last October, Richardson struggled with his accuracy at times but also flashed the big-play ability that made him the fourth overall pick in the 2023 Draft. The 22-year-old QB showed off his big arm on a 60-yard touchdown to Alec Pierce in the first quarter and a 54-yard TD strike to Ashton Dulin in the fourth, and Richardson then displayed his scrambling ability with a three-yard touchdown run late in the game. He also wasn't at fault on his second-quarter interception in the red zone, as Kylen Granson stumbled on his route. Richardson will look to build on this performance in a Week 2 road tilt against the Packers.

Carr completed 19 of 23 passes for 200 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 47-10 rout of the Panthers. He added 13 rushing yards on two carries. The Saints absolutely dismantled the visitors, scoring on their first nine drives of the game before finally being forced to punt midway through the fourth quarter. Carr led the way with one of the most efficient performances of his career, hitting Rashid Shaheed for a 59-yard score on New Orleans' first possession before finding Foster Moreau (head) for a three-yard TD late in the first quarter and Juwan Johnson for a 16-yard touchdown just before halftime. Carr's first season with the team was viewed as a disappointment, but new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is off to a flying start in reshaping the attack. However, the unit will face a much tougher test in Week 2 against the Cowboys.

Carr completed 11 of 16 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 44-19 rout of the Cowboys. He added a one-yard touchdown run. The Saints scored 35 of their points before halftime, including all three of the TDs that Carr had a hand in, so he didn't have a whole lot to do in the second half. The New Orleans offense under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak has been a revelation to begin the season, scoring touchdowns on 11 of its first 21 possessions, and Carr already has three TD passes of 50 or more yards through two weeks, including a 70-yarder to Rashid Shaheed on a deep fly route in the first quarter and a 57-yarder to Alvin Kamara on a screen pass in the second against Dallas. Carr will look to continue the hottest start of his career in a Week 3 home tilt against the Eagles.

Darnold, Sam

Darnold completed 19 of 24 passes for 208 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Vikings' 28-6 win over the Giants on Sunday. He also rushed three times for three yards. Returning to a MetLife Stadium field that was often a proverbial house of horrors for him during a difficult early career stint with the Jets, Darnold looked like a quarterback out for redemption over the course of a stellar Vikings debut. The veteran signal-caller connected with Justin Jefferson (three yards) and Jalen Nailor (21 yards) for his two touchdown passes, and his 12 consecutive completions to open the game tied franchise legend Fran Tarkenton's record in that category. Darnold had the perfect game environment to ease into his new role thanks in part to a dominant defensive performance by Minnesota, but the going figures to be a lot tougher in a Week 2 home showdown against the 49ers.

Darnold completed 17 of 26 passes for 268 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and added five carries for 32 yards in the Vikings' 23-17 win over the 49ers on Sunday. He also committed two fumbles, recovering one. Darnold wasn't quite as efficient as he'd been during a Week 1 win over the Giants in which he misfired on only five pass attempts, but considering he was missing Jordan Addison (ankle) from the onset of the game and then lost Justin Jefferson (quadriceps) late in the third quarter, the veteran signal-caller was effective overall. Well before the latter's exit from the game, however, the duo connected for a 97-yard touchdown pass that served as the highlight of the afternoon, and essentially, the difference in the game. Darnold did take his lumps against an aggressive 49ers defense that sacked him three times and hit him on an additional three occasions, jarring the ball loose twice. While Darnold and the Vikings were still able to escape with a high-quality victory, they will be hard-pressed to duplicate their success in a Week 3 home matchup against the Texans if neither Jefferson nor Addison are available for that contest.

Burrow, Joe

Burrow completed 21 of 29 passes for 164 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed four times for 15 yards in the Bengals' 16-10 loss to the Patriots on Sunday. Burrow's outlook coming into the afternoon had some uncertainty attached, considering the absence of Tee Higgins (hamstring) and Ja'Marr Chase's ability to play a full complement of snaps due to an illness and his very sparse practice time over the last month-plus. The connection between the quarterback and his top target proved to be in solid shape -- Chase was on the receiving end of six of Burrow's completions and 62 of his yards -- but the talented signal-caller clearly missed the speed and downfield threat typically offered by Higgins. Burrow took three sacks and averaged just 5.7 yards per attempt, a testament to a Patriots defense that clearly didn't seemed bothered by the team's underdog status. He'll hope to have Higgins back and will need to take his game up several notches Week 2, as Cincinnati heads into Kansas City to take on the defending champion Chiefs next Sunday.

Burrow, Joe

Burrow (wrist) completed 23 of 36 passing attempts for 258 yards and two touchdowns while adding nine rushing yards on six attempts in Sunday's 26-25 loss to Kansas City. Burrow also committed a pivotal turnover when he was strip-sacked for a touchdown in the opening moments of the fourth quarter in a narrow loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. The LSU product saw a marked improvement in his fantasy score following a Week 1 dud against the Patriots. Burrow wasn't his sharpest from the pocket, watching his completion percentage regress to 67.7 following Sunday's loss. Cincinnati's franchise QB didn't visibly appear to be limited by his surgically repaired wrist, downplaying any concerns raised on social media earlier this week. Despite taking the loss, Burrow's stock is trending upward following a solid performance against a difficult opponent as the Bengals prepare to face the Commanders next Monday.

Mayfield completed 12 of 19 passes for 185 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 20-16 win over the Lions. He also rushed five times for 34 yards and a touchdown. Mayfield connected with Chris Godwin for a 41-yard touchdown to put the Buccaneers up by seven in the second quarter, but he threw an interception on his final pass of the first half. The first overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft showed off his underrated mobility with consecutive 11-yard runs in the third quarter, the latter of which culminated in a go-ahead touchdown. Despite Mayfield's modest passing numbers and the inability of Tampa Bay's offensive line to contain Aidan Hutchinson, who sacked Mayfield three times in the first quarter en route to 4.5 sacks overall, Mayfield did enough to lead his team to victory. The Buccaneers are 2-0 heading into a Week 3 home game against the Broncos.

Stroud completed 24 of 32 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 29-27 win over the Colts. He added 13 rushing yards on four carries. Despite some early issues with his footing on the new turf at Lucas Oil Stadium, Stroud put together an impressive performance that saw his newest weapons, Joe Mixon and Stefon Diggs, account for all three of Houston's touchdowns. Stroud did take four sacks, but otherwise, the Texans' attack looked just as sharp as it did last year when the quarterback won Offensive Rookie of the Year. Stroud will lead his team into a Week 2 clash with the Bears and 2024 first overall pick Caleb Williams.

Tagovailoa completed 23 of 37 passes for 338 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions and added an 11-yard rush in the Dolphins' 20-17 win over the Jaguars on Sunday. Tagovailoa overcame a lackluster first half where the Jaguars seemed to be continually one step ahead, leveraging a strong second-half performance from his own team's defensive unit and hitting on some key passes over the final two quarters. None was bigger than his 80-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill late in the third quarter, which brought Miami to within four points. Tagovailoa also subsequently led a pair of field-goal drives that totaled 20 combined plays, with the latter march culminating in a game-winning, 52-yard field goal by Jason Sanders. Tagovailoa and his explosive skill-position weapons may not be able to get away with another slow start Week 2, however, as Josh Allen and the Bills come calling in a Thursday night matchup.

Hurts completed 20 of 34 pass attempts for 278 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing 13 times for 33 yards with a lost fumble in Friday's win over the Packers in Brazil. It was a sloppy start for Hurts on a slick playing field overseas after committing two of his three turnovers on Philadelphia's first two drives. The 25-year-old settled in following the pick and ensuing lost fumble, rattling off four straight scoring drives for the split crowd in Sau Paolo, Brazil. Hurts did not see any action this preseason, so a sloppy game in a foreign land can be looked past for one of the top QBs in fantasy, especially after willing his team to a narrow victory to start the regular season. The Eagles will return home to face the Falcons on Monday, Sept. 16.

Coach Brian Daboll said Monday that Jones remains the Giants' starting quarterback heading into a Week 2 matchup on the road against Washington, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports. Daboll also said that New York won't be discussing any additions to the quarterback room or any changes to the distribution of practice reps, per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News. Jones was dreadful in Sunday's season-opening loss to Minnesota in which he completed 22 of 42 passes for 186 yards, with zero touchdowns and two interceptions (one pick-six). The sixth-year QB will work to bounce back Week 2 in a favorable matchup against the Commanders, but if Jones is unable to spark the offense again his grip on the starting gig may not hold firm much longer.

Jones completed 16 of 28 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 21-18 loss to the Commanders. He added 32 rushing yards on five carries. It was a better performance than Jones managed in the Giants' opener, but the team still came up short. Some bad luck contributed to the loss, as Graham Gano (hamstring) was injured on the opening kickoff Sunday, and New York was unsuccessful on one extra point try and two two-point conversions -- both pass attempts from Jones to Darius Slayton -- the rest of the afternoon. The quarterback could be benched at any point in 2024 if the Giants decide they're going to move on from him next offseason and don't want the injury guarantee in his contract to lock a $23 million salary for 2025. For now though, Jones figures to be under center in Week 3 against the Browns.

The veteran's other three rushing attempts came in the form of kneel-downs as Seattle wrapped up its first victory of the 2024 campaign. Smith wasn't relied upon heavily in a game that was highlighted by Seattle's running backs and defensive unit. The 33-year-old remains a steady middling fantasy option as the Seahawks prepare to face the Patriots in Week 2.

Smith saw some additional volume thanks to overtime, but he was asked to take to the air more than in Week 1. He responded with a strong performance, highlighted by a 56-yard touchdown to DK Metcalf late in the first quarter while also showing strong rapport with Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The downside to his performance was that he found the end zone only once, but it was an encouraging performance heading into a Week 3 matchup against Miami.

Jackson is a "little bit sore" but is fully expected to be available for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. After suffering a 27-20 loss to the Chiefs last Thursday in Week 1, the Ravens reconvened for an unofficial practice session Monday, but Jackson didn't participate. Due to the longer turnaround the Ravens will face for Week 2, Jackson's absence Monday looks to be mostly maintenance-related, as the coaching staff likely just wanted to give his body some more recovery time after he carried the ball 16 times in the season opener. The Ravens will release their first Week 2 practice report Wednesday, and Jackson will most likely be listed as a full participant, if he's even included on the report at all.

It was a disappointing afternoon overall for Baltimore as it started 0-2 for the first time since 2015, with the Ravens blowing a 10-point second-half lead and Jackson unable to do enough to prevent it when he had the ball. The former MVP's final numbers appeared to be serviceable overall, but he couldn't establish much chemistry with any other pass catcher except for Zay Flowers, who was on the receiving end of his one touchdown pass of the contest. The offense's struggles are particularly concerning considering it's Jackson and his teammates' second season in the system, and they'll now be tasked with trying to get themselves straightened out in an intriguing road matchup against a Cowboys defense that will be looking for atonement in their own right in Week 3.

Purdy didn't put up strong fantasy numbers due to the lack of touchdowns in Monday's victory. The 25-year-old was without the services of star running back Christian McCaffrey (calf) for the 49ers' home opener, but the rest of the offensive unit picked up the slack behind a strong defensive effort in the decisive victory. Purdy threw a clean game that featured a pair of rushing touchdowns from Jordan Mason and Deebo Samuel and six field goals from kicker Jake Moody. Expect San Francisco's star quarterback to put up bigger performances moving forward, with the next opportunity coming against the Vikings on Sunday.

The 24-year-old's gaffes proved to be costly for both fantasy managers and the 49ers after the team lost by one score despite being favored in Sunday's road contest. Purdy was his usual sharp self in the pocket (78 completion percentage) outside of the pair of second-half turnovers Sunday. The star quarterback has a prime opportunity to get right against a rebuilding Rams defense next Sunday after a pair of pedestrian fantasy lines to kick off the 2024 campaign.

Watson, Deshaun

Watson was unable to move the Cleveland offense at any meaningful point in the game and averaged a disastrous 3.8 yards per attempt. Particularly troublesome was Watson's inability to distribute the ball effectively to his top pass catchers, as he was just 2-for-9 when targeting Amari Cooper and 3-for-8 when looking toward Jerry Jeudy. Dallas projects to be an above-average defense this season, but it will be difficult to trust any Browns' skill-position player regularly until Watson shows the ability to improve his level of play.

It was still far from a prolific performance, but Watson improved significantly compared to his dismal Week 1 showing. He avoided turnovers and showed the ability to distribute the ball down the field as he had three completions of at least 20 yards -- two of which went to Jerry Jeudy. Watson also accounted for the team's only touchdown with a one-yard run late in the first quarter. The fifth-year running back saw fewer carries than Gus Edwards (11 for 26 yards), but it was clear the scheme called for Dobbins to take the majority of rushes outside, and he also saw an overwhelming majority of the targets out of the backfield. While the 2020 second-round pick was chased down on both of his long runs, his clear burst and acceleration felt reminiscent of his early years with the Ravens before a series of serious knee injuries hurt his career trajectory. Dobbins could be poised for another heavy workload against a Panthers defense that allowed 47 points in Week 1.

Dobbins was actually outpaced by one-time Ravens backfield mate Gus Edwards by one carry, but it's clear through two weeks there's plenty of room for two backs to be productive in head coach Jim Harbaugh's run-centered attack. Dobbins will look for a third consecutive 100-yard game when Los Angeles faces off with the Steelers on the road in Week 3.

Antonio Gibson took only seven carries as the No. 2 running back, clearly delineating the pecking order in New England's ground attack. Stevenson will look to replicate the stellar 2024 debut when he tangles with the Seahawks at home Week 2.

Worthy, Xavier

Worthy caught two of three targets for 47 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for a 21-yard score in the Chiefs' 27-20 win over the Ravens on Thursday night. The first-round pick wasted no time translating his stopwatch-busting speed into a game situation, scoring the Chiefs' first touchdown of the campaign on a 21-yard end around just past the midway point of the first quarter. Worthy blew past the Ravens' defense on that play and then took advantage of a miscommunication in the secondary on his 35-yard TD grab down the right sideline in the fourth quarter. He's already finding success as a big-play threat and could see more snaps/targets Week 2 against the Bengals.

Pierce, Alec

Pierce caught all three of his targets for 125 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Texans. The third-year wideout made a huge impact as a deep threat for Anthony Richardson, hauling in a 60-yard TD in the first quarter and adding a 57-yard reception in the fourth on the Colts' final scoring drive. Seven of Pierce's 76 career catches have gone for 40 yards or more, an impressive ratio that seems likely to get even better if Richardson stays healthy this season. In Week 2, Pierce will take aim at a Packers secondary that gave up plenty of big plays to the Eagles in its opener.

EVANS, MIKE

Evans caught five of six targets for 61 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 37-20 win over Washington. Evans finished third in receiving yards for the Buccaneers while logging the most fantasy points by scoring twice in the win. The superstar wideout is fresh off of a contract extension and looks to be in sync with starting quarterback Baker Mayfield to kick things off this fantasy campaign. Evans will face a stiffer test in terms of defensive backs when the Bucs face the Lions next Sunday, but the WR1 should always crack starting fantasy lineups so long as he is 100 percent healthy.

KUPP, COOPER

Kupp hauled in 14 of his game-high 21 targets for 110 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Lions. He added two carries for 10 yards. Kupp popped off with a monster receiving line to begin the fantasy season after beginning last year on the PUP list due to injury. Unfortunately for the Rams, his massive target total came at the expense of fellow star wideout Puka Nacua (knee), who may have suffered a serious injury of his own in Sunday's nationally televised loss to Detroit. Kupp was already poised to bounce back following injury-plagued campaigns in 2022 and 2023, but he may be asked to do even more than expected if Nacua is forced to miss time after being carted off of the field Sunday. Kupp and the Rams will look to shake off this competitive loss in advance of next Sunday's tilt against Arizona.

Brown, A.J.

Brown had five receptions (on 10 targets) for 119 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 34-29 win over the Packers. Brown ripped off a 67-yard touchdown catch for the Eagles that saw the star wideout outrun star defensive back Jaire Alexander to the pylons. The fantasy stud produced as if he was in midseason form despite seeing no action this preseason. Fantasy managers who snagged Brown as one of their main WRs should feel good about Friday's results in Brazil. A home matchup against the Falcons awaits in Week 2 on Monday, Sept. 16

DIGGS, STEFON

Diggs caught all six of his targets for 33 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 29-27 win over the Colts. He added six rushing yards on one carry. While Nico Collins remained the top downfield option for C.J. Stroud, Diggs made an immediate impact as a red-zone threat in his debut for the Texans. The former Bill put his new team in the lead for good with a nine-yard score early in the second quarter, then hauled in Houston's final TD of the afternoon with a three-yard grab late in the fourth. Diggs scored at least eight touchdowns in all four of his seasons with Buffalo and has reached that mark six times in total during his career, and it looks like he'll have no trouble doing it again with the Texans in 2024. Diggs will make his home debut for Houston in Week 2 against the Bears.

Godwin, Chris

Godwin converted all eight of his targets into receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-20 win over the Commanders. Godwin was the leading receiver for Tampa Bay in terms of receptions, targets and yardage, but fellow star wideout Mike Evans grabbed two of Baker Mayfield's four touchdown passes Sunday. More importantly, the 28-year-old Godwin looked healthy running routes in the win after battling minor leg injuries in past seasons. Both Godwin and Evans make for fine fantasy starters on a weekly basis, including next Sunday's tilt against the Lions.

Moreau, Foster

Moreau won't return to Sunday's game versus the Panthers due to a head injury, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports. Moreau made a visit to the sideline tent in the fourth quarter before the Saints made a ruling on his status. He'll thus finish Week 1 with four catches (on four targets) for 43 yards and one touchdown. His target count surprisingly was ahead of fellow TEs Juwan Johnson (three) and Taysom Hill (two), but assuming he entered the concussion protocol, Moreau will need to complete its five steps in order to be cleared for his next game action.

Johnson, Juwan

Despite flirting with Fantasy relevancy and preseason hype, Johnson has struggled to find any consistency. Getting hurt this offseason won't help things. Johnson averaged the 18th-most Fantasy points per game in PPR and has struggled to earn a consistent target share throughout his career. Volume has been a big factor in Johnson's lack of consistency. In 2023, he averaged the 26th-most touches among TEs but was under three touches per game. He also averaged just the 19th-most targets per game at TE. Furthermore, Johnson hurt his foot in June and did not have a timetable for his return. It all points to Johnson not being on the Fantasy radar in 2024.

Pitts, Kyle

Pitts recorded three receptions on three targets for 26 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 18-10 loss to the Steelers. The distribution of targets in Atlanta was surprising, as Ray-Ray McCloud led the team with seven looks followed by Bijan Robinson. In that context, Pitts had a decent showing that was highlighted by a 12-yard touchdown late in the first half. Pitts has never found the end zone more than three times in a season and hadn't scored earlier than Week 5 entering 2024. Despite the disappointing volume Sunday, Kirk Cousins should elevate the Falcons' offense, in turn improving Pitts' production.

Okonkwo, Chig

Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that Okonkwo and Josh Whyle are "two very different kind of tight ends" and both will have roles in the offense, Buck Reising of 104.5 The Zone Nashville reports. Callahan classified Whyle is more of an in-line "Y" tight end and Okonkwo as more of an "F" (move) tight end, which perhaps hints at the latter being more involved than the former as a pass catcher. The team's initial preseason depth chart lists both as starters, a move that attracted some attention after Whyle played only 156 snaps in 11 games as a rookie in 2023. Okonkwo, meanwhile, took 692 snaps in 17 games, but he struggled for much of the season before improving late in the campaign and recording 61 percent of his yardage over the final seven weeks (322 out of 528 yards). His production was also heavily back-weighted during his 2022 rookie campaign, but in that season, Okonkwo simply didn't get much playing time early on. Callahan's quote makes it sound like another leap forward in playing time is unlikely for Okonkwo in Year 3.

Bowers, Brock

Bowers recorded six receptions on eight targets for 58 yards in Sunday's 22-10 loss to the Chargers. Despite recently overcoming a foot injury, Bowers led the Raiders in both targets and receptions in his pro debut. His longest catch of the day came in the middle of the second quarter as he worked over the middle of the field on a play-action pass. He was otherwise targeted primarily underneath by Gardner Minshew, but it's clear that Bowers will play a key role in the Raiders' offense in his rookie campaign.

Parkinson, Colby

Parkinson finished with four receptions on five targets for 47 yards in Sunday's narrow defeat to the Lions. Parkinson signed with the Rams this past offseason to become the team's starting tight end after spending the first four years of his career with the Seahawks. The 25-year-old ceded just one target to backup Davis Allen while former starter Tyler Higbee (knee) remains on the active/PUP list with no current timetable for a potential return. Parkinson's current situation as the offensive-minded Rams' only experienced tight end puts him in a positive fantasy position for next Sunday's tilt against Arizona and potentially the first half of the regular season.

LaPorta, Sam

LaPorta caught four of five targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 26-20 overtime win over the Rams. LaPorta was quiet for the majority of Week 1, though he logged an 18-yard reception on Detroit's final possession of regulation, which ended with a game-tying field goal from Jake Bates. Quarterback Jared Goff didn't have the most effective night, limiting the tight end's overall upside against Los Angeles. LaPorta will look to get more involved in Week 2 when the Lions host the Buccaneers, a team against whom the tight end caught nine of 11 targets for 65 yards in the divisional round of the postseason in 2023.

Njoku, David

Njoku (ankle) exited the locker room in a walking boot after Sunday's 33-17 loss to the Cowboys, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Per Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com, coach Kevin Stefanski said after the game that Njoku will have more testing done Monday on the ankle injury that he suffered in the second half of Sunday's season opener. Njoku didn't return to the game after going to the locker room with trainers in the third quarter. An update on his availability for Week 2 against the Jaguars should surface after Monday's tests, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Njoku is feared to have suffered a high-ankle sprain, which would likely entail a multi-week absence.

BOSWELL, CHRIS

Boswell completed 29 of 31 field-goal attempts while making 27 of 28 extra-point tries during the 2023 campaign. Boswell had one of the worst seasons of his career in 2022 by converting just 71.4 percent of his field-goal tries over 12 games. However, he won a kicking competition during training camp this year to retain his job, and he rewarded the Steelers with a bounce-back performance. The 32-year-old converted six of his seven attempts from at least 50 yards, and he's now made 21 attempts from at least 50 yards over the past three seasons. Boswell signed a four-year, $20 million contract with the Steelers in August of 2022, so he'll presumably be back with the team for his age-33 season following a solid showing this year.

Grupe, Blake

Grupe went 1-for-1 on field-goal attempts and converted his lone PAT in Sunday's 16-10 preseason loss to the 49ers. Grupe hit a 52-yarder early in the third quarter, and he now gone 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts and 2-for-2 on point-after tries this preseason. The second-year kicker also went back to handling almost the entirety of the Saints' kicking duties after first-year player Charlie Smyth hit the game-winning field-goal attempt in the team's preseason opener. While the latter kicker handled New Orleans' first kickoff of the second quarter, his scant usage seems to indicate that there isn't a legitimate kicking competition going on here this preseason. The Saints will wrap up their preseason schedule this coming Sunday with a final exhibition against the Titans.

Aubrey, Brandon

Aubrey converted both his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Saturday's preseason game against the Raiders, including a 66-yard FG just before halftime. Had it been the regular season, that kick from the Cowboys' side of midfield would have tied for the longest field goal in NFL history, matching the record set by Justin Tucker in 2021. Aubrey established himself as one of the best placekickers in the league as a rookie in 2023, and the 29-year-old shows no signs of becoming a one-year wonder.

McLaughlin, Chase

McLaughlin (abdomen) returned to a full practice Thursday. McLaughlin should be good to go for Sunday's Week 1 opener against the Commanders. The big year earned McLaughlin a three-year, $12.3 million deal in the offseason.

Fairbairn was successful on two of three field-goal attempts and converted both extra-point kicks in Friday's 20-12 preseason win over the Steelers. Fairbairn's in no danger of losing the placekicking job for a team that's expected to produce a lot of offense and points.

Bass, Tyler

Bass made all four extra-point attempts and two field goals in Sunday's 34-28 win over the Cardinals. Bass didn't miss Sunday, first connecting on a 37-yard FGA and then a 39-yarder in the final minutes that extended the Bills lead to 6. With four successful PATs included, it was a perfect Week 1 for the veteran kicker. Next up for Bass and the Bills is a divisional matchup Thursday against the Dolphins.

Dicker, Cameron

Dicker closed last season on a tear, and hopefully that carries over to Week 1 against the Raiders. He scored at least 13 Fantasy points in each of his final three games, with 49 total points over that span, and he made 12-of-13 field goals. He did all of that with just four PATs, and the Chargers offense should give him more scoring chances this week with Justin Herbert back under center. Dicker is worth starting in all leagues for Week 1.

Elliott, Jake

Elliott made four extra-point attempts and two field goals in Friday's 34-29 win over the Packers. Elliott has been one of the best kickers in football for the last three seasons and so far has carried that success into 2024. The Memphis product was perfect on the day, making 21 and 38-yard field goals, aiding Philadelphia in its Week 1 win. Elliott and the Eagles will host the Falcons next Monday in Week 2.

Lutz plans to remain with the Broncos after agreeing to a two-year deal with the team, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports. The report notes that Lutz originally had an arrangement with Jacksonville in place, but the kicker instead elected to re-up with Denver. The 29-year-old converted 30 of 34 field-goal tries and 29 of 31 extra-point attempts in 17 regular-season games with the Broncos in 2023.

Santos was perfect on three field-goal attempts in the Bears' 24-17 win over the Titans on Sunday. Coming into this season, Santos had converted 93 percent of his field-goal attempts for the Bears. However, his fantasy value was often low, due to the frequent ineffectiveness of the Chicago offense. Although the offense was not great in this game, field-goal opportunities allowed Santos to have a strong showing in Week 1. If the Bears can get better play from Caleb Williams, Santos could become a weekly fantasy starter.
